Common Baby Sleeping Problems And Solutions

Sleep is very important to babies. On the first three years of the lives of infants, they devote most of their time sleeping. You may even notice that during their sleep they grimace, smile or move their eyes in different directions. This is called the REM stage or the Rapid Eye Movement stage. This is when the babies try to absorb all the information they have encountered while they were awake. This stage is very important in a baby’s life as it helps promote brain growth and development. If your baby has baby sleeping problems, this is very alarming because your baby will not be able to take the required amount of sleep that maximizes brain growth and development. "My baby won't sleep" is a statement dreaded by mothers. Luckily there are things that you can do to help your baby sleep.

One common baby sleeping problem is due to place and improper ventilation. Babies are very sensitive. If the place you are putting your baby to sleep into is noisy, naturally, your baby won't sleep or might be disrupted if he is already sleeping. To make sure this will not happen, look for a place that is not noisy. Check if the room is well ventilated so that your baby will have a good sleep.

Next to look into is your baby’s diet. You may have not known this but your baby’s diet can also affect the sleeping patterns of your baby. You should give your baby a balanced diet. There are parents who perceive a baby’s cry as a sign of hunger so they feed the baby every time he cries. This is a very common mistake. You end up overfeeding your baby which is bad to his health and can greatly affect his sleeping pattern also. Conversely, give the baby enough food so that if in case he sleeps, he won’t wake up in the middle if his sleep to feed. Babies who are disrupted in their sleep or does not have the needed time of sleep tend to be very easily irritated. Others are nervous, hyperactive and difficult to soothe.

It is recommended that you put your baby on his sleeping place before he falls asleep. The idea here is to let the sleeping place be in the baby’s memory before he falls asleep. This way, he will associate sleeping with the bed or the crib and not you. The area where the baby sleeps should be well arranged and free from clutter.
